ALL PETS ARE WELCOME

You’ll find out pretty quickly we consider every pet – large or small – a member of the Sunnyside family. So we want to know your pup, foal, calf, or kitten as soon as possible!

WE’VE GOT THE STUFF

We carry a wide assortment of dog & cat foods, including many prescription foods, and if we don’t have it, we will make sure you have everything you need to get it elsewhere.

Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. Our facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-house x-ray and ultrasound capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels.

Dr. JJ Coate

Dr. Coate graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and started Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic in 2013. She is proud to see how much the practice has grown over the past several years. She enjoys the diverse medicine and surgery caseload of private practice and loves working with people who like animals! Dr. Coate is passionate about serving the London community as a veterinarian and feels that she is privileged to treat ‘all God’s creatures, great and small.’ She and Dr. Walters have the joy of parenting two beautiful daughters who have joined a farm full of dogs, cats, chickens, and horses!

Dr. Abby Miller

Dr. Miller joined Sunnyside as a veterinarian in 2019 after graduating from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been volunteering or working at Sunnyside in different roles since 2013. She enjoys the variety of patients and cases that she gets to see every day – veterinary medicine is certainly never boring! One of her favorite things about her job is getting to see patients throughout their lives – from puppies or kittens all the way up to dignified, elderly dogs or cats. Dr. Miller is a voracious reader, enjoys gardening, and also loves spending time with her family and many pets.

Dr. Phil Walters

Dr. Walters joined Sunnyside as a veterinarian in 2019 although he has been helping his wife, Dr. Coate, with the practice since its inception in 2013. He received his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 2009 and has a background working as an engineer at Honda. He realized his love for veterinary medicine after participating in countless animal adventures with his wife and eventually decided he wanted to make a career shift. He enjoys meeting people and animals, performing surgery, and the continual opportunity to learn every day. Dr. Walters also holds a private pilot license and enjoys hiking, horseback riding and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers!
